Reds! Snook! Tarpon.
Report Date: October 30, 2007
October has been a great month here in Everglades National Park.
Almost every area on the gulf side has been holding Both Reds and Snook.
Being summer time here in Chokoloskee can be extremely hot,but thats just waht the fish seem to like.
Also on the outside there have been schools of tarpon busting the schools of mullet, and it's a site to behold.
The average size seems to be in the 60 to 100 pound range, but their are also the monsters out there also in the 150 pound and up.
Gil Drake and I fished the backcounty last week and and almost everywhere we stoped we slamed the snook.I landed a 15 pound snook, and lost another big fish in the 15 to 20 pound range.
Were not sure if it was a snook or a Large Red but it was a big one.
