Thank you Bert!!!

Had a great time as always and just sorry I had to run out...everything ok now but I think we need a no cell phone rule on your boat!

Really enjoyed my time with you as well and look forward to fishing again next winter my friend.

Take care and good luck with the rest of your season!

Ps: and thanks for understanding re Friday...we will do that tour but not this season I regret.

Our trip from Chokoloskee to Rabbit Key in the 10,000 Islands area with Capt. Bert Barkus was excellent. We took a 1/2 day tour. Captain Bert Barkus, a Master Naturalist, provided a wealth of knowledge of the ecology and history of the area. Captain Bert was friendly, responsive to our specific needs, and mindful of safety. We saw dolphins herding fish, falcons, herons, egrets, a wealth of jumping fish, turkey size pelicans, and thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular scenery of the 10,000 Island area. This is truly the nursery for all the oceans living things. A first class operation.
Thank you Capt. Bert,

“Out of this World Experience”

We booked our 3 hour Trip and were amazed by the whole experience. Our guide, Capt. Bert, was so giving of his knowledge and did so in such a way that we felt like we were in the hands of a true expert. He took us to an island where we walked and then pulled anchor and went on the search for manatees - and Bert found them!! We then walked the beach again where Bert provided us with knowledge of the flora and fauna - even encouraging us to eat an edible cactus!! The trip was done at a very leisurely pace and was thoroughly enjoyed by both my husband and I and our 15 and 11 year old daughters. It's a day we will talk about for a long time to come. Bert was the sort of guy you could spend a whole day listening to and it was just a shame we only had 3 hours of his time. When the trip had finished he gave us a little "insider knowledge" of where to locate the Everglades Alligators. We found those too!! Thank you for making our trip to The Everglades one we'll remember for a lifetime.

Love the pics!!!! Thanks again for such a great time, and we really enjoyed seeing the area and learning about your beautiful environment.
We appreciated your knowledge and thoroughly enjoyed you sharing so many interesting facts with us.
We just got back to Memphis last night, and I'm in the middle of unpacking...can't wait to see all those beautiful shells we found!
The 5 days we spent in Sanibel / Captiva were sooooo chilly and windy. We thought we were going to get some reading in while we were soaking up that sun on the beach. No Way.....we stayed bundled up, and spent our time eating great food and touring the area. Hope we'll get back down there one day…Hello to Sue.

“Captain Bert is the best!”

We chartered Capt. Bert for a sunset trip and it was unbelievable and certainly something to remember for a long time.
He has done this for many many years and it certainly shows - he is so knowledgeable about everything. You touch something, or pick something up from the beach, he can tell you what it is, how it works, and ... He knows all the animal species and it is just fun to listen to him tell his stories.
We went around the islands in his little boat and stopped on one of the larger keys with a beautiful beach to do a beach walk.
We also brought some snacks on the boat for a little picnic.
Afterwards we enjoyed viewing the sunset from the boat and did some fishing (without success unfortunately).
He brought us back safe and sound just after night fall.
Great experience, and for next time we are already planning a little camping trip on one of these deserted keys. And Capt. Bert will be our guide.
Can't wait!
